Nostalgia of Cjristmas

          After reading these articles, I rememberred my christmas story in childhood. When I was a kid, I believed that Santa Claus existed in the world and I couldn't wait Christmas Present. So, I'm nostalgic in my great memory. I think I had a pure heart when I was a kid. So, I envy my pure heart now. Now, I have a little dirty heart. I knew that Santa Claus didn't exist here.

          Today, I watched "A ChRistmas Story". It was so interesting and funny. When I watched this movie, I was comparing Ralphie and me. I think he had a bad memory in christmas. However, I had a great memory in christnas. If I could go back to my memory, I want to go back to Christmas Eve in 8~12 years old.

A Christmas Story

          After reading these articles, I think this movie is very interesting family movie. Main character is Ralghie. He is very fun boy, because his life is dangerous but funny. I myself watched this movie's trailer on Youtube. the most funniest scene I watched is that his aunt who always think Ralphie is 4-year-old girl, and sends a pink bunny suit to him. In addition, he also tries to rut it on. When I watched this scene, I could not help laughing.

          Probably in this class, when we are watching this movie, some of us are cannot help laughing for a while. (including me.) So,  I'll expect us to enjoy this movie!!! And enjoy your Thanksgiving Week!!!! Stay safe.

Real Deja Vu

After reading these articles, I was suprised at a man, who was in his 80s and had dementia. He described how all the programmes on TV, he could hear the same bird singing the same song and so on. Dr Chris Moulin said "It is a new symptom, not a syndorome".

I think the man's happening is special ability in the world, not a symptom. He became only person who can watch the future. So, I envy his ability. And if I'll get this ability, I want to see a people's future.

Will we get this ability in the future by power of science???

Groundhog Day

          After reading these article, I wanted to get an ability of controlling time. In this movie, a man is involved the loop of February 2nd, Groundhog Day. His name is Phil Connors.At first, he tried to commit crime, killed by himself, and tried to get a beautiful woman. Her name is Rita. Then he succeeded to get her and could escape the infinite loop. So, almost all of the people don't want to be involved the infinite loop like him.

          Before watching this movie, I myself watched the trailer. I think this movie may comedy, science, or romantic movie. So, I can enjoy watching this full movie. And setting is in Pennsylvania too. This movie's title is "Groundhog Day" in English. But, Japanese title is "Love is Deja Vu".

          If you have an ability of controlling time, what do you want to do???

The War of the Worlds Broadcast

After reading these articles, I think Orson Welles who made The War Of the Worlds was the most famous hoax directer in the world. In my case, if I hear or watch the information about the invader of Mars or Extraterrestrial monsters, I will do same things like Tom Cruise in that movie. I usually watch TV show and believe all information. So, I am a worm of TV information.

However, sometimes these information was great. Because today November 6th is election day of the U.S. president. So, when I am writing comment, I am checking the progress of opening election. Then, now I know the result of the election. Barack Obama won the election. Probably, this information was true. I don't know this reason. But, I think it is important to believe the information from Media.

Radio Listeners in Panic, Taking "War of the Worlds" in 1938

October 30, 1983, it was the day before Halloween, the day was called "The Night That Panicked America" at other movie. After reading two articles about the greatest hoax, I think sometimes the radio and the TV information becomes weapon which makes all people panic or scary. So, these articles tell us not to believe the information of the radio and the TV absolutely. But, now almost all of the people get all information from them. In my case, I do same thing too.

Orson Welles, made this radio "The War of the Worlds", announced "This movie is fiction" a few times under broadcasting radio show. However, some people belived this TV was real and decided to leave the city. Other people wanted to be soldier to fight against the enemy of Mars. If you get the information you don't know whether real or not, what will you do???

Media Coverage about Wars

After reading these articles, I was suprised at media power. For all people, both of the wars are very impact for them. But, the impact was too strong and much imformation. So, we were confused with teh true imformation. I myself heard the news about Iraq. In Japan, there were a lot of imformation about Iraq war. Iraq war was so-called the Digital Media War.

I think the military soldiers were naturally dangerous and the journalists were also dangerous. So, journalists wanted to inform about the real things to all people. My opininon is that Japanese people often hates fake information especially me. So, I want them to broudcast true information.

In this period, I think Media Power is more strongest weapon than chemical weapon. In the future, the Media Power will move this period. Probably it may move very slowly but steadily.

Wag The Dog

This movie was interesting for me after reading this article. This story is a satire movie about President. To distract the press from the Firefly Girl scandal, Conrad Brean (Robert De Niro) (a spin doctor) came up with an unbelievable idea. It was about making the fake war.

Nowaday, every people in the world live with TV. Probably, we can't live without TV or a lot of information. In my case, since I was born, I have been watching TV and gathering much information from TV. But, I don't know whether this information is true or fake. Sometimes I was fooled by fake information. I think now every people are controled by a plenty of imformation.

Manipulation Tactics

After reading this article, I think many Media companies has a lot of maniplation tactics. So, I am not bored to watch the TV. In Japan, I always watched the many TV programs. For example, news, music, comedy, animation, and movie. These things are important for me. Because these gave me as much imformaton as studying by myself. So, for me, TV is most important and convenient.

 Probably, if I have never watched TV, I'm not smart and studying English a lot now. it thanked TV that I was interested in studying English and traveling around the world. I'm a worm of TV. And in the future, I will watch TV program forever.

The sequel will make us Cry

 

I am terribly sorry about Lance Loud passing away.

 

Lance was the first openly gay person on television. Viewers were both horrified and transfixed by him. In my opinion, some people have a little different thoughts. We have to allow them about homosexual love and lesbian love because all people have a right of free.

 

Lance Loud was died of a hepatitis C and HIV coinfection. We must respect him. And I myself am interested in Cinema Verite. So, I am looking forward to watching where left off last time.  

 

 



The Hotel Chelsea

Befor reading this article, I didn't know this hotel. I didn't know name of hotel at all.

But I finished this article and I was impressed by the history of the Chelsea.

Many many famous artists, writers, musicians, and actors. For example, Mark Twain"The Adventure of Tom Sawyer", Arthur C. Clarke"2001: A Space Odyssey", Bob Dylan"Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands". For artists, the Chelsea is the best sanctuary in New York. New York Times said, "the Celsea is the art-filled Tower of Babel for both creativity and debauchery". 

After reading this article, I wanted to stay at this hotel. But the Chelsea was closed in 2011 because a real estate developer Joseph Chetrit bought for US$80 million dollars. So I couldn't stay there. However, I'm going to go to New York next month, November 3rd. Then I want to go there and take a picture of this hotel.

The Load Family

 

 

After reading these articles, I though about importance of family relationship. Nowadays, most of people belong to "family". But, few people may belong to this group because of divorce of parents, death of parents, and so on. In this article, Pat Lord and William C. "Bill" were married and had five children. But, they were separated in order that Pat Lord had a "American Dream".

 

In the view point of Bill, he might think "Why do we have to divorce?". So, indeed, he said "when I left the family, I was never so relieved in all my life". I agree with what he said. In my case, I'll separate from my family just 4 months. So, I miss my father, mother, sister, and my pets.

 

In the view point of their children, they might be severe about "divorce". They wanted to separate from their husband/wife. I myself don't want to divorce my wife. One of the them "Kevin" said, "Life is a collection of experiences, and the more you have, the richer you are." These words attack my heart. I agree with his opinion strongly. Guys!! Let's enjoy own life!

Reality TV shows

          I haven't watched American TV show. I only watched American movies. So, I don't know about American reality TV shows, but,after reading these articles, I wanted to watch reality TV shows. Actually, I like watching TV. And, I watch all types of TV programmes. For example, dramas, movies, comedy, and cartoon. I think reality TV shows are boring for some peole, but for other people act as a stimulus.

          Next, before reading these articles, I didn't know about American family at all. But, after that, I knew them a little. Next time, I want to watch many American TV programmes. And, I want to study about America a lot.

Comment of An American Family

      After reading these articles, I thought An American Family was good inspiration for us. For example, this TV show is documentary of real American family lives. So, this Tv opened up the issues a family has and problem of gender, sexuality, and relationship for different generations.Actually, many of American family and Japanese family may have some common points. 

      

       Then, I think if your family has a big problem now, I recommend you to watch this TV show. and based on this TV, I wish your family will resolve the problem. Do you have a problem between you and your family members??? 

The history of Christopher Reeve

When I read these articles, I thought Christopher Reeve was a true hero in the real world.

On May 27, 1995 , he changed everything. Reeve was at a  horse competition in Verginia.

 I n there, he had a gereat tragedy. Then he can't walk forever. But, he has never given up.

And he and his wife,Dana Reeve, opened the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center.

I was very sad to know this truth for the first time. But he said these words, "I think a hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles."

these are keeping in my memory. And I want to live like the person.

Which do you choose better heroes "hero is a someone who commits acourageous action without considering the consequences" or "hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles."????

The Comment of the article : Superman as the essential American Hero

I noticed that Superman affected many wars; World War II, the Cold War for the first time.
After reading the article, I thought I don't want the American Government to use these comics as weapons for wars.  Also the author of Superman thought "I want many children to read this comic and to be happy".

Some people said,"Hero's story is about fighting against the evils, so it can give many inspiration to fight someone to people. As a result anti-heroes is complaining about creating heroes.

In my opinion, I just love heroes.So, I was sad to read the article.  So, I hope that bad heroes's image is removed all over the world.     

The comment of ''Comic Books'' : The American mythology

When I read this article,I  also thought these superheroes ("Spider-Man","Spider-Man2","X-Men","Sin City" and so on...) are in the same tradition  the myths of ancient Greece. Because America has many many different cultures, so American authors can edit a lot of types of movies ,TV shows,and so on. That's why they chose the myths of Greece by accident.

I think all of superheroes stories (American heroes,Greece heroes,Japanese heroes...) are didactic moralism. So,for 2000 years, people all over the world  have been thinking that heroes won the bad guys in the end.
But, Superman fights American society too. Spider-Man and X-Men also fight it.It is so cool!!!
Some people love them,but the other hate them. In my opinion,after reading it,I love them very much!!!!
and I have never watched superman, so I want to watch it and I'll study about American mythology a lot.
